Antioxidants occur naturally in MADE
Undoubtedly, you have heard a lot recently about antioxidants and their benefits to health. Research seems to indicate that oxidation of our body’s cells can lead to disease and aging. Oxidation can result from exposure to a variety of chemicals and stresses that we encounter every day. Antioxidants are molecules that can prevent the chemical reactions of oxidation from taking place. There are many different types of antioxidants present in the foods we eat.
One method of measuring the ability of a particular food to act as an antioxidant is called Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC). We have measured the ORAC value of MADE in order to give you an idea of how it compares to other foods. The ORAC value of MADE beverages averages 13.04 / g, measured within 2 weeks after production (average of all 5 flavors). For comparison, brewed green tea averages 12.53 / g (source: USDA Database for the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity of Selected Foods, release 2, May 2010. http://www.ars.usda.gov/nutrientdata).
We cannot guarantee the ORAC value of MADE. The value can change with normal variation in raw ingredients, manufacturing conditions, storage conditions, and length of time in storage.
